Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in southern Africa known for its dramatic landscape and diverse wildlife, much of it within parks, reserves and safari areas.

Our trip gives you the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable and fascinating adventure.

You will witness the magnigicent Mosi Oa Tunya – “the smoke that thunders”. Known as one of the natural Seven Wonders in the World – the Victoria Falls is 1.7km wide and 108 metres drop into the chasm below. Amazing rainbows can be seen at certain times of the day and if you time your trip to Victoria Falls over the full moon, you can see the Lunar rainbow, something not to be missed.

You will then explore Hwange National Park -the largest natural reserve in Zimbabwe. Its grasslands and mopane woods are home to large elephant herds, lions and African wild dogs.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival Zimbabwe- Victoria Falls International airport / Hotel/ The Boma Dinner and Drum show

On arrival into Victoria Fall’s new airport, you will be met and transferred to the Bayete Guest Lodge, Victoria Falls.

Victoria Falls is recognized as one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The rain forest surrounding the falls is a unique ecosystem that is endemic to the Falls. The birdlife is also unique to this area and includes some “specials” such as the African Finfoot and the Schalow’s Turaco. While it is neither the highest nor the widest waterfall in the world, it is classified as the largest, based on its width of 1,708 metres (5,604 ft) and height of 108 metres (354 ft) resulting in the world’s largest sheet of falling water. Victoria Falls is roughly twice the height of North America’s Niagara Falls and well over twice the width of its Horseshoe Falls. In height and width Victoria Falls is rivaled only by Argentina and Brazil’s Iguazu Falls.

Bayete Lodge – Bayete offers comfortable & affordable accommodation and is situated in the heart of the Victoria Falls Residential Area.  The lodge is 2km from Victoria Falls Centre and 22 km from the Airport.

Recently renovated, this family run lodge offers 25 rooms accommodation which is set in a lush tropical garden.  Central to the lodge is the large tear drop pool which is hugged by the Caldecott Boma & Ngwezi Tavern.  A truly relaxed environment for families with children and can be treated as your home away from home!

19h00  This evening we have booked a table for you at The Boma Dinner and Drum show.   Described as an unforgettable African experience infused with Zimbabwean cuisine, spirited dance performances, traditional storytelling and an interactive drumming experience, The Boma – “Place of Eating” has firmly established itself as a Victoria Falls highlight.  It specializes in a superb selection of Zimbabwean dishes including local delicacies such as Mopani worms and game stews.

En route, clients may be taken past the ‘Big Tree’ where they may stop and take photos. Clients will be accompanied through the Rainforest by one of our qualified Guides who will give a brief history of the Falls themselves as well as detailing the flora, fauna, bird & wildlife and other points of interest.
