Day 01: Arrival Lima

Upon arrival at Lima airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and driven to your hotel located in Miraflores.

Overnight in Lima at Casa Andina Select Miraflores – Superior Room

*Lima city is located at an altitude of 80 meters (262 ft) above sea level.

Day 02: Lima Private city Tour (B)

After breakfast, you will be driven to the city of the Kings where you will see beautiful monuments Colonial Palaces, Colonial houses adorned with Moorish-style balconies, Plaza San Martin, Plaza de Armas, the baroque cathedral, Palacio de Gobierno (Governors Palace), the Archbishop’s Palace with its big carved wooden balconies, and the convent of San Francisco which houses the largest collection of religious art in the Americas. Underneath the convent lie extensive catacombs that served as the cemetery during the colonial period!

Day 03: Flight Lima - Cusco (B)

After breakfast, you are picked up from your hotel and transported to Lima airport to board your morning flight to Cusco city.

Upon arrival at Cusco airport, you are met by our representative, who will be holding a sign with your name, and driven to your hotel located in the center area of Cusco.

You will have time to rest and adjust to the altitude.

In the evening, you will have your pre-trek departure briefing with your Inca trail guide. Overnight in Cusco at Casa Andina Classic Cusco Plaza – Traditional Room

Day 04: Cusco private City Tour (B)

This morning, your private driver and guide will pick you up from your hotel to show the beautiful Inca city of Cusco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; you will visit not only the most beautiful pre-Columbian buildings but also the wonderful Inca Ruins located on the outskirts of Cusco city.

Tour highlights: Koricancha temple, Cusco Cathedral, Sacsayhuaman, Q’enko, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara.

Day 05: Cusco - Km 82 - Ayapata (B, L, D)

After an early breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven through the Sacred Valley to the trailhead at Km 82, the starting point of the Inca Trail where our crew of Quechua Porters will be waiting for us to set off on our lifetime adventure in the ancient Inca trail to Machu Picchu.

Our first day starts crossing the Urubamba River; we pass through eucalyptus groves and giant corn fields while enjoying amazing views of the Vilcanota mountain range and the snow-capped peak Veronica. After some hike we reach a massive Inca site called Llaqtapata, a complex of agricultural terraces, then we continue hiking to the small valley of Hatunchaca where our cook serves our lunch.

After lunch, we continue hiking to Ayapata our campsite for tonight, on the way we pass by the community of Huayllabamba.

Day 06: CAyapata - Warmiwañusca Pass – Chaquicocha (B, L, D)

Our second day starts with a consistent breakfast and a beautiful Andean dawn!

Today we must reach the highest point of our trek, Warmiwañusca pass situated at 4,200 meters (13,780 feet) above sea level.

As soon as we start hiking through dense forestthe trail starts to climb slowly, we stop atLlulluchapampa,the guide tells us the story of this place. The trail climbs steeply,after some hours of hard work, we reach the highest point of the Inca trail,Warmiwañusca Pass (The dead Woman Pass)situated at an altitude of 4,200 meters (13,776 feet) above sea level. Despite the strong cold winds, you will enjoy having a short break at the summit and the stunning views of peaks and valleys. We start descending gradually through a rock trail to reach the valley of Pacaymayo, where our cook has our lunch ready.

After lunch wehead to Runkurakay ruins, a construction to rest during Inca times used by Incan Couriers. The trail continues to climb toward Runkurakay pass situated at 3,850 meters (12,630 feet) above sea level, from the summit, we have spectacular views of the snow peaks of Pumasillo range; on the way to our next campsite we pass by the Inca Complex of Sayaqmarka, Inca houses with terraces and aqueducts, finally we reach our camp site in Chaquicocha, we will have our tents already set up by our Quechua Porters.

Day 7: Chaquicocha - Wiñaywayna (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we head to Wiñaywayna,the most spectacular archaeological complex of the entire Inca Trail. On the way we pass through a green tunnel formed by the forest and enjoy the beautiful orchids; definitely, it is so impressive how the Incas built these roads along the mountains and rainforest. After some hike, we visit one of the most impressive Incas’ sites, the archaeological center of Phuyupatamarka situated at 3,572 meters (11,722 feet) above the sea level. Finally, we camp near Wiñaywayna situated at 2,691 meters above the sea level (8,829 feet)

Day 8: Wiñaywayna - Sun gate - Machu Picchu (B, L)

After a very early wake up, we start our way to Inti Punku (The Sun Gate) where we are rewarded with the most beautiful view of Machu Picchu!Finally, we achieve our goal! We reach Machu Picchu and feel that all the great effort we put up during our hike was worth it.

12:30 p.m. Buffet lunch at TinkWe have a guided tour of this impressive Inca city and learn about the history of this site, who lived here, how it was discovered in modern times and why the Spaniards never found it.   You will have some insight into the various features of this sacred city and have free time to really enjoy yourself alone in this spectacularly located site, an unforgettable experience that will stay with you forever!uy Restaurant located at the Sanctuary Lodge.

Day 9: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu (B, L)

07:00 am: climb Huayna Picchu Mountain. 13:00 Lunch in Aguas Calientes

Afternoon train journey on board the Vista dome train from Machu Picchu to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival at Ollantaytambo train station, you will be driven to your hotel.

Day 10: Whitewater rafting on the Urubamba River and Horseback riding (B, L)

This morning we will be driven to Pachar village the starting point of our whitewater rafting adventure on the Urbamba River.

Upon arrival, all participants will be given a safety briefing by our river guide.

The briefing touch on paddling commands, capsize drills and actions when overboard; participants will be provided with Helmets, wetsuits, splash jackets and personal flotation device.

Once every one is ready, we start with a quick practice on the calm parts of the river, our adventure starts on easy water surrounded by beautiful mountains and archaeological remains, then we head to Ollantaytambo and its amazing Inca terraces, on the way we will enjoy class II-III rapids and finish by “El Resbaladero” (The Slide), a great class III rapid that includes waves and small whirlpools. We finish our adventure by Cachiccata community located a few minutes to Olantaytambo village.

After lunch, we drive to your hotel in Cusco.

The Devil’s Balcony Horseback ride

This afternoon, we drive for about 20 minutes to the ranch located on the outskirts of Cusco to start our horseback riding adventure.

We head to the Devil’s balcony, a huge colorful rock that looks like a balcony, and then we continue our ride to the X-zone where we will find some amazing caves and definitely enjoy a great view of Sacsayahuaman walls! Finally our ride ends at the temple of the moon, a mysterious and energetic archaeological site located on the outskirts of Cusco.

Day 11: Flight Cusco – Juliaca (Puno) (B)

Am. After breakfast transfer to the airport to board the flight to Juliaca

Upon arrival at Juliaca airport you will be transferred to your hotel located on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Overnight in Puno at Sonesta Titicaca Hotel – Standard Room

Day 12: Boat trip to Lake Titicaca/Overnight on Amantani Island (B, L, D)

After Breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Puno pier to board the motor boat and start your adventure on the highest navigable Lake in the world, the first stop will be on the floating Totora reed Islands of The Uros where you will see how these pre-Incan people live; we continue our journey through the lake toward Amantani Island, where you will have an overnight stay with an Aymara family and learn about their traditions and customs of this pre-Inca culture.

Day 13: Taquile Island (12960 ft) – Puno (B, L)

After breakfast, we continue to Taquile Islands where you will learn more about Inca’s culture and traditions;

their lifestyle remains the same as it has been for centuries with very little influence from modern times. Here you will find beautiful textiles and some of the best handicraft in the Inca region. In the afternoon, we will return to Puno pier, from where you will be transferred to your hotel.

Flight Juliaca – Lima

Late afternoon, you will be driven to Juliaca airport to board your flight to Lima.

Upon arrival at Lima airport you will be driven to your hotel located in Miraflores area.

Day 14: Flight Lima – Iquitos - Muyuna Lodge (B, L, D)

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the airport to board your early morning flight to Iquitos.

Upon arrival at Iquitos airport, you will be met by our representative and escorted to the pier to board the fast boat to Muyuna Lodge located 87 miles upriver south of Iquitos city, at Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo community Reserve on the banks of Yanayacu River. During the boat trip through the amazing Amazon River, you will observe how people of the local communities live and sail on the Amazon River as if it were a highway in the Amazon.

After almost 3 hours of sailing you will arrive at Muyuna Lodge, after a welcome drink (fruit juice) you will be accommodated in your room.

Before lunch, you will have a briefing about your stay in the Amazon, safety issues, excursions, list of animals seen in the area, what to wear and reply any questions you may have.

Leoncito walking tour

This afternoon, you will have a walking tour to appreciate the immense variety of flora around the Muyuna area. You can taste the water that Uncaria tomentosa (cat’s claw) has within its vines – which is used to cure cancer and AIDS. You will also be amazed by the huge Ceiba tree. In addition, you will see the world’s smallest monkey, the pigmy marmoset, and the squirrel and tamarin monkeys. If you’re lucky, you’ll see the howler monkey, whose deafening roar can be heard many miles away.

After dinner you will enjoy a boat excursion for nocturnal Cayman spotting, observation of birds and mammals. Overnight at Muyuna Lodge – Standard Room

Day 15: Amazon Lagoons, Canoeing and Piranha Fishing (B, L, D)

After a very early morning, you will have a 20-minute boat trip to Sapote lagoon to enjoy watching parrots, jacanas, kingfishers, herons, panguana, partridges, pigeons, cormorants and horned screamers. Then we head to Moena lagoon where you can observe sloth, monkeys, squirrel, monk, stump, and other amazon animals like turtles and iguanas.

At 10:30 am. we return to the lodge to enjoy your time canoeing or kayaking in the river before Lunch.

Piranha fishing

This afternoon, we travel by boat to Purura and Corrientes lagoons where you will enjoy a piranha fishing adventure and watching the colorful Amazon bird of hoatzin or “shansho”.

20:00 Nocturnal boat trip to search for birds and Iguanas.

Overnight at Muyuna Lodge – Standard Room

Day 16: Swimming in the Amazon. Muyuna Lodge – Iquitos. Flight Iquitos - Lima (B)

After breakfast, we will have a boat ride to Buenos Aires beach in the Amazon RIver, a calm area where you will watch and swim surrounded by the pink dolphins. On the way back to the lodge, you will see the biggest aquatic plant in the world, the famous Victoria Regia.

After lunch we will board our fast boat and return to Iquitos and then to the airport to board your flight back to Lima.

Note: recommended evening departure flight after 8 pm.
