This trip offers you a wonderful combination of both nature and culture of Kathmandu Valley. The trip starts from Sundarijal situated at the eastern rim of Kathmandu Valley and concludes at the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu. After hiking through the beautiful woodlands and rural villages along the endless Himalayan panorama, the trip will take you to Nagarkot, a beautiful hilltop famous for unforgettable sunrise and sunset views. The trip, then, continues to Kathmandu Valley for the insightful sightseeing tours to the heritage sites including Hindu shrine Pashupatinath; the largest Buddhist stupa of the country, Boudhanath; and Patan Durbar Square. Next you will explore  Bhaktapur Durbar Square, which showcases the marvels of Nepali medieval art and architecture within the widely scattered area of 6.9 sq. km. You will also have an opportunity to do community work in an orphanage in Kathmandu.


Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel (D)

The first view of Nepal from the window of your plane could be a lifetime memorable view as the clear wide and white range of Himalayas shine straight in-front of your eyes. The ecstatic beauty is so rare that you won’t be able to blink your eyes. Welcome to Nepal; a large heaven within this small planet Earth. As you step out of the airport our representative and a driver will receive you with a pleasant smiling welcome on their faces. You will be escorted to your hotel in the city for relaxation.

Day 02: Drive to Sundarijal, Hike to Chisapani (4-5 hrs) ( B, L, D)

After your breakfast, you will be driven to Sundarijal, which literally means “beautiful water”. Drive to Sundarijal takes about 45 minutes from Kathmandu city. The place is popularly known for its beautiful river cascading down by the side of the town. You will start your hike with a winding uphill climb to the Shivapuri ridge. Then onwards, you will enter Shivapuri National Park. Throughout your hike, you will encounter humble rural settlements, refreshing woods and some of the most stunning views of Himalayan panorama including Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, Gaurishankar Himal. After around  4-5 hours, you will reach Chhisapani (2115m), a small village nestled in the lap of nature. The village is a great retreat from the bustle and crowd of Kathmandu city. You will spend your night in one of the local teahouses.

Day 03: Hike to Jhole, Pawabhanjyang (5 hrs) ( B, L, D)

After emptying your teacups and feasting on your breakfast your trek resumes. You will continue through sparsely settled villages and jungles following the typical hill terrain of Kathmandu Valley; a little bit up and a little bit down. Throughout the trek, you will be welcomed by the refreshing nature, humble country life and the wide spreading Himalayan vistas in the horizon. After walking about 5 hours, you will arrive at Jhole which is your stopover for tonight. Today also, you will spend your night in a local teahouse.

Day 04: Hike to Nagarkot (3 hrs) ( B, L, D)

Today you will continue your trek to Nagarkot (2195m), a beautiful viewpoint with mesmerizing natural beauty. The trail is almost flat with occasional ups and downs. Just before reaching Nagarkot, you have to ascend for about 30 minutes to reach the hilltop. In about 3 hours of walk through the nature trail, you will reach Nagarkot to relish a breathtaking sunset view.

Day 05: Morning sunrise view, Drive to Kathmandu ( B, L, D)

Today, you have to wake up a bit early to witness one of the major highlights of the whole trip. As the golden rays of the sun start spreading on the pearly mountain range, the mesmerizing spectacle starts unfolding in front of you. You can have the panoramic view of Mt. Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Makalu (8463m), Manaslu (8163m) and many other peaks. This stunning Himalayan views will remain in your memory for your lifetime. After feasting your eyes with the fascinating views, you will head towards Kathmandu Via Bhaktapure, “a city of devotees”, 12 km south-east of Kathmandu city. Bhaktapur is the smallest of the three valley cities. However, it is incomparable for its unparallel art and architecture. Bhaktapur Durbar Square, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site is an open museum of the Golden Age of Nepali art and architecture. The Nyatapol and Dattaraya Temples, Golden Gate, Palace of 55 windows etc are the finest examples of sculpture, woodcarving, and pagodas. After the sightseeing, back in Kathmandu, you can wander in the streets of Thamel, hunt the souvenirs or capture the moments in your camera. You can also stroll down to Ason, a busy and fascinating square of the city. The choice is yours!

Day 06: Sightseeing in Kathmandu (Boudha, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square) ( B, L, D)

After your breakfast, you will be guided to a full day sightseeing tour to the world heritage sites of Kathmandu Valley, namely Bouddha Stupa, the largest and the oldest Buddhist stupa in Nepal; Kathmandu Durbar Square, the oldest Palace of Kathmandu and Patan or Lalitpur (the City of Artisans), which is 5km away from Kathmandu city. You will walk through Patan Durbar Square, and delight in the architectural wonders of Malla era. Mahaboudha Temple, Kumbeshwor Temple, Krishna Temple and Golden Temple are the major attractions of the square.

Day 7: Community service ( B, L, D)

Today you will have the opportunity to visit an orphanage or disabled home and do community work.

Day 8: Departure (B)

Today is the final day of your trip. If you don’t have an early flight, you can just do some last minute shopping or just relax in your room or at hotel lounge. You will be transferred to the airport for your international flight back home.
