Time to travel
This is all year-round destination; however, the wet season is from late December through to the month of March and recommended to be avoided. The best time to travel is considered between the months of April through mid-December.

Through a variety of activities, we offer you the opportunity to explore Madagascar’s wildlife and natural beauty. Defy the Tsiribihina River with a canoe in 2 days and half. The peaceful meandering river gives the opportunity to experience the pureness of Madagascar with visits to isolated villages and children running along with the boat on the riverbank; woman washing their clothes, campfires under a blanket of bright stars, and if lucky you will spot crocodiles, lemurs and other wildlife. A visit to the Tsingy de Bemaraha is just as adventurous with walkways through the chaotic razor-sharp pinnacles. Those are set out with cable robes, rocky steps, steel ladders and a suspension bridge over the impressive canyons. Surely the famous Avenue the Baobabs cannot be excluded.

Day 01: Arrival in Antananarivo ( D)
Upon your arrival, a Rahhalah representative will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 02: Antananarivo – Miandrivazo (400 km) ( B, L, D)
After breakfast, drive to Antsirabe. The road lingers through the hilly terraced highland and you will pass through the village of Ambatolampy, where you can visit an aluminum pot atelier. As soon as you enter the town the roads are buzzing with colorful pousse-pousse (rickshaw). This is the town to explore craft shops and it is also an important industrial centre, mainly for its beer breweries and dairy factories.
After visit of this thermal town and shopping of your own needs for the next few day river trips,we drive to Miandrivazo. Upon arrival at the village you will have time to explore the area.

Day 03 and Day 04: Tsirihibina River Trip with canoe ( B, L, D)
We leave early in the morning to take the canoe for the descent, with our bags, personal needs, and water of course. We begin our calm water river journey on the majestic Tsiribihina River, admiring the river area… The trip is slow and you can relax, but if you like some exercise you can help the boatmen peddle. Sit back and enjoy nature passing you by. The peace and quiet of the meandering river is amazing, spot the birds and if lucky the lemurs, watch the herds of zebu drinking and villagers busy at everyday chores, wave back to the children running after the motor boat along the banks. Before nightfall we make our camp on the riverbank and enjoy the campfire, a good meal and a sky full of stars.
During the two days and half you will pass through diverse landscapes, isolated natural wilderness, reminding you how far away you are from home. At the end we pass the Gorge of Bemaraha with its steep rocks before we stop at Anosin’Ampela, a wonderful waterfall where we can refresh ourselves. We will see dense vegetation along the riverbanks, towering cliffs and baobab forests. Water birds, fruit bats and lemurs will accompany our journey.

Day 5: Tsiribihina River – Belo sur Tsiribihina (B, L,D)
This will be the last day of your exciting river trip. After lunch, the car will pick you up and check-in at the hotel.

Day 6: Belo sur Tsiribihina – Bekopaka (120 km for 4 hours)( B, L, D)
After breakfast, drive (4X4) to Bekopaka, crossing a runway road, we have to cross as well Manambolo River by ferry boat before to arrive in Bekopaka city.

Day 7: Visit of Bemaraha National Park ( B, L, D)
Today we start the exploration of Bemaraha National park
In the morning, after the breakfast the Big Tsingy 17 km from the village. This enormous UNESCO World Heritage Site protects the largest of Madagascar’s Tsingy limestone plateau and its wildlife. MNP (ex ANGAP) built impressive walkways for the park’s circuit, because of the chaotic razor-sharp pinnacles. There are cable robes, rocky steps, steel ladders and even a suspension bridge over one of the canyons. Lunch picnic and, visit of “Petit Tsingy”. This circuit is 2-3 hours duration and passes through a labyrinth of limestones and two view points over the impressive pinnacles. There are some good chances to spot the Decken’s sifaka and red-fronted brown lemurs. Return back to the hotel at the end of the afternoon.

Day 8: Bekopaka – Kirindy – Morondava (200 km for 8 hours) ( B, L, D)
Drive back to Morondava, crossing again two rivers with ferry boat. You will visit and have lunch at Kirindy forest. The diurnal visit of Kirindy reserve is the best place in the whole island to observe the “Fosa”, especially during the mating time. It’s also home to seven species of lemur. The most common are the brown lemurs and the Verreaux’s sifakas. The flora is also quite unusual and contains several locally endemic plant species. The two species of baobabs of Kirindy reach here simply unbelievable sizes. Baobabs are believed to be sacred by the locals. Lunch closed the area and, drive to Morondava in the afternoon stop in the road to visit the unique Baobab Alley and experience sunset, one of the best memories of this trip. The Baobab trees are specifics to the area and Madagascar has six species out the eight existing.

Day 9: Morondava – flight back to Antananarivo( B, L, D)
Breakfast in the hotel and transfer to the airport for the flight back to Tanà(Antananarivo). Possibility to have some visit of orphanage and sacred hill according to the times.
Overnight at Palissandre or Similar.
Day 10: Antananarivo Departure – International flight (B)
Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
