Day 01/ 16th June 2018: Arrival Lima

Airport to Hotel estimated driving time: forty-five minutes

Once your flight lands at Jorge Chavez International airport, follow the signs to immigration and then to customs. After exiting customs, you will be in the International arrivals area, where your driver will meet and greet you, he will be holding a sign with Rahhalah logo, and drive you to your hotel located in Miraflores area.

Upon arrival at your hotel, our Staff will welcome you and assist you with all you may need.

Day 2 / 17th June 2018 : Flight from Lima to Cusco ( B)

After breakfast, you are picked up from your hotel and transported to Lima airport to board your early afternoon flight to Cusco city.

Upon arrival at Cusco airport your guide will meet and greet you, he will be holding a sign with Rahhalah logo, and drive to your hotel in the center of Cusco.

Day 3 / 18th June 2018 : Cusco ( B)

Free morning to explore Cusco at your leisure

Private half-day Cusco City Tour and Sacsayhuaman and nearby Inca Ruins Tour.This afternoon, you are picked up from your hotel and embark on a memorable experience visiting the beautiful city of Cusco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site!

You tour starts with a smooth walk to the main attractions of this Inca city, its main square known as Plaza de Armas, then the Cusco Cathedral which construction started in 1559 and has an impressive unique collection of more than 400 paintings from Cusco school made during the 16th and 17th century. Next, you walk through the narrow Inca streets close the Plaza and appreciate the massive Inca walls which are the foundations of Cusco city.

Your tour includes a visit to the most impressive Inca temples, Koricancha, which is known as the temple of the sun. During the Inca time, the walls of this temple were lined in sheets of solid gold and its courtyard was decorated with statues and ornaments of gold! You tour includes a visit to Santo Domingo Church built by the Spanish colonists.

After visiting the city of Cusco, we will head to Sacsayhuaman, an amazing Inca fortress which main walls perfectly fitted, were built with massive stones. You will learn more about the Incas’ secrets, we continue to Qenko, site of carved living rock then to Puca Pucara, an Inca lodging Site and finally Tambo Machay, known as the Baths of the Inca. At the end, you will have an amazing view of the Inca city and surrounding areas.

Day 4 / 19th June 2018 : Embark on your Inca trail Adventure ( B, L, D)

Finally, the day to start your lifetime adventure on the Inca trail to Machu Picchu has come, this morning you are picked up by your guide from your hotel, and embark on a smooth ride through the spectacular sacred valley of the Incas, after a three-hour journey we arrive at the trailhead at Km 82, we meet our Inca trail crew of Quechua porters and Cook, these gentlemen of the Andes will do their best for you to have a safe and memorable experience.

Today, we will have a six-hour hike on a well-marked path, enjoying the eucalyptus groves, outstanding views of Urubamba River, the Vilcanota Mountain Range, the snow-capped peak of Veronica (19,102 ft./5,822m.) and the agricultural terraces in the Inca complex of Llaqtapata.

Day 5 / 20th June 2018 : Reaching the top of the Dead Woman’s Pass is achievable and rewarding ( B, L, D)

Today may be the most challenging day of your Inca trail adventure, we will climb steeply almost 4,000 feet (1,220 meters), but no worries your guide and Inca trail crew will ensure you have a safe and unique experience.

Before setting off on our second day on the Inca trail, we will have a nutritious breakfast that will give us sufficient fuel and energy to reach the top of the Dead Woman’s Pass (13,780 feet/4,200 meters). If you need to push yourself, keep an eye on the prize, there are no words to describe the overwhelming sense of accomplishment that you will feel when reaching the top of the Dead Woman’s Pass. You will have breathtaking views of the thick forest, snowcapped peaks and the Inca trail.

After crossing the Dead Woman’s Pass, we start descending along a rock stepped trail to Pacaymayo valley (11,810 feet/3,600 meters), our campsite for tonight.

Day 6 / 21st June 2018 : Beautiful Andean scenery while walking on the Royal Inca trail (B, L, D)

Today is going to be a great day, we will have to reach only two mountain passes, easier than the Dead Woman’s pass, cross the cloud forest and visit amazing Inca sites.

We have a hearty breakfast while enjoying the beautiful views of the clouds over the mountains, then we set off on our third day on the Inca trail.

We start with a one-hour climb to the circular ruins of Runkurakay, it is believed it was a resting place for Incan couriers during Inca times. After visiting this Inca site, we continue climbing for almost one hour towards Runkurakay Pass (12,960 feet/3,950 meters) here we will have breathtaking views of the snowcapped mountains of Vilcabamba range.

We continue our hike down to the “inaccessible town” of Sayacmarca, a well preserved mysterious Inca complex (11,772 feet/3,588 meters), no-one knows what this Inca site was built for but you will enjoy it much.

Now the trail climbs down to the valley floor, beautiful orchids start appearing while we walk on the Inca road. The trail starts to climb again, we will pass through the Inca tunnel that traverses solid rock; it is so impressive how the Incas built these roads along the mountains and rainforest. After passing the tunnel, the trail leads up to the third pass, we reach Phuyupatamarka (12,140 feet/3,700 meters), now it is a great opportunity to enjoy stunning views of Salkantay and Veronica Snowcapped Mountains.

After crossing our third mountain Pass, we reach the “Cloud-Level Town” of Phuyupatamarka , one of the most impressive archaeological Inca centers.

Finally, we camp near Wiñaywayna (8,829 feet/2,691 meters), the most spectacular archaeological complex of the entire Inca Trail.

Day 7 / 22nd June 2018 : You made it! Finally, in Machu Picchu ( B , L ,D)

Today is the most exciting day of your life-changing Adventure on the Inca trail! We will wake up very early, have another hearty breakfast and head to the “Sun Gate” where you will enjoy your first sight of the “lost city” of Machu Picchu.  You may want to spend some time sitting and overlooking Machu Picchu, what a wonderful view!

You will enjoy a guided tour of the most amazing Inca city in the Americas and learn about the history of this site. You will have some insight into the various features of this sacred city and have free time to enjoy yourself!

13:00 p.m. Lunch at Tinkuy Restaurant located at the Sanctuary Lodge.

After lunch time, you will board the bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will spend the night.

Then, we hike down for just one hour and arrive in Machu Picchu, one of the most extraordinary archaeological sites on earth!

Day 8 / 23rd June 2018 : Machu Picchu ( B, L)

After breakfast, you will board the bus to Machu Picchu for your hiking adventure to Huayna Picchu Mountain. Hike to Huayna Picchu Mountain

After your hiking adventure, you will board the bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch and then board the vista dome train to Cusco.

Train journey from Machu Picchu Pueblo to Ollantaytambo

Estimated train journey time: one hour and fifty minutes.

After lunch, you will board your train to Ollantaytambo station in the sacred valley.

Upon arrival at Ollantaytambo train station, you are met by our representative, who will be holding a sign with your name, and driven to your hotel.

Day 9 / 24th June 2018 : Whitewater rafting on the Urubamba River ( B)

This morning you will be driven to Pachar village the starting point of our whitewater rafting adventure on the Urbamba River.

Upon arrival, all participants will be given a safety briefing by our river guide. The briefing touch on paddling commands, capsize drills and actions when overboard; participants will be provided with Helmets, wetsuits, splash jackets and personal flotation device.

Once everyone is ready, we start with a quick practice on the calm parts of the river, our adventure starts on easy water surrounded by beautiful mountains and archaeological remains, then we head to Ollantaytambo and its amazing Inca terraces, on the way we will enjoy class II-III rapids and finish by “El Resbaladero” (The Slide), a great class III rapid that includes waves and small whirlpools. We finish our adventure by Cachiccata community located a few minutes to Olantaytambo village.

Horseback riding Adventure in the sacred valley

After lunch, we walk to the Inca Bridge to start our horseback riding adventure. This afternoon, you will enjoy great views of the sacred valley surrounded by mountains, eucalyptus trees and passing thru small Quechua villages. The horseback riding level is easy and safe.

After your horseback riding tour, you will be driven to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 10 / 25th June 2018 : Flight from Cusco to Juliaca. Puno ( B)

After breakfast, you are picked up from your hotel and transported to Cusco airport to board your morning flight to Juliaca city.

Upon arrival at Juliaca airport your guide will meet and greet you, he will be holding a sign with Rahhalah logo, and drive to your hotel on the shores of Lake Titicaca.

Day 11 / 26th June 2018 : Boat trip on Lake Titicaca and Homestay at Amantani Island ( B, L, D)

After Breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Puno pier to embark on a lifetime adventure on Lake Titicaca. Our first stop will be the floating Totora reed Islands of The Uros here you will see how these pre-Incan people live and learn about their ancient customs and traditions.

We continue our journey through the lake towards Amantani Island, where you will spend the night with an Aymara family and learn about this unique pre-Inca culture.

Day 12 / 27th June 2018 : Taquile Island. Puno ( B, L)

After breakfast, your Lake Titicaca adventure continues onto Taquile Islands, here you will interact with the locals and learn more about Inca’s culture and traditions. Their lifestyle remains the same as it has been for centuries, the inhabitants of this island are very famouos because of their beautiful textiles and some of the best handicraft in the Inca region.

In the afternoon, we will return to Puno pier, from where you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 13 / 28th June 2018 : Flight from Lima to Iquitos ( B, L, D)

Estimated Flight time: one hour and fifty-five minutes

You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Lima airport to board your flight to Iquitos.

Upon arrival at Iquitos airport, our representative will meet and greet you, he will be holding a sign with Rahhalah logo, and drive you to Iquitos pier to board the fast boat to Muyuna Lodge located 87 miles upriver south of Iquitos city, at Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo community Reserve on the banks of Yanayacu River. During the boat trip through the amazing Amazon River, you will observe how people of the local communities live and sail on the Amazon River as if it were a highway in the Amazon.
After almost 3 hours of sailing you will arrive at Muyuna Lodge, after a welcome drink (fruit juice) you will be accommodated in your room.

Before lunch, you will have a briefing about your stay in the Amazon, safety issues, excursions, list of animals seen in the area, what to wear and reply any questions you may have.

Leoncito walking tour

This afternoon, you will have a walking tour to appreciate the immense variety of flora around the Muyuna area. You can taste the water that Uncaria tomentosa (cat’s claw) has within its vines – which is used to cure cancer and AIDS. You will also be amazed by the huge Ceiba tree. In addition, you will see the world’s smallest monkey, the pigmy marmoset, and the squirrel and tamarin monkeys. If you’re lucky, you’ll see the howler monkey, whose deafening roar can be heard many miles away. 

After dinner, you will enjoy a boat excursion for nocturnal Cayman spotting, observation of birds and mammals.

Day 14 / 29th June 2018 : Amazon Lagoons, Canoeing and Piranha Fishing ( B, L, D)

After a very early morning, you will have a 20-minute boat trip to Sapote lagoon to enjoy watching parrots, jacanas, kingfishers, herons, panguana, partridges, pigeons, cormorants and horned screamers. Then we head to Moena lagoon where you can observe sloth, monkeys, squirrel, monk, stump, and other amazon animals like turtles and iguanas.

At 10:30 am. we return to the lodge to enjoy your time canoeing or kayaking in the river before Lunch.

Piranha fishing.

This afternoon, we travel by boat to Purura and Corrientes lagoons where you will enjoy a piranha fishing adventure and watching the colorful Amazon bird of hoatzin or “shansho”.
20:00 Nocturnal boat trip to search for birds and Iguanas.

Day 15 / 30th June 2018 : Swimming in the Amazon. Muyuna Lodge – Iquitos. Flight Iquitos – Lima ( B, L)

After breakfast, we will have a boat ride to Buenos Aires beach in the Amazon RIver, a calm area where you will watch and swim surrounded by the pink dolphins. On the way back to the lodge, you will see the biggest aquatic plant in the world, the famous Victoria Regia.

After lunch, we will board our fast boat and return to Iquitos and then to the airport to board your flight back to Lima.

Upon arrival at Lima airport you will be driven to your hotel.

Day 16 / 1st July 2018 : Private Lima Experience/ Departure ( B)

Hotel pick-up time: 09:00 am.

This morning, you are picked up from your hotel and start your adventure in Lima city. Your day starts with a visit to a local Market, where you will learn about Peruvian fruits, potatoes, vegetables, fish and other ingredients used in the local Cuisine.

After a short experience with Peruvian Gastronomy, you will be driven the city of the Kings and explore the beautiful monuments, Colonial houses adorned with Moorish-style balconies, their main Plazas like San Martin and Plaza de Armas, a view of the baroque cathedral, the Governors Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace with its big carved wooden balconies, and a guided visit inside the convent of San Francisco which is home to the largest collection of religious art in the Americas. Underneath the convent lie extensive catacombs that served as the cemetery during the colonial period.

Your tour includes a visit to the beautiful olive tree park and “Park of Love” where you will have a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean! After your Lima tour, your guide can recommend you a nice Restaurant to have lunch overlooking the Pacific Ocean!

Inca Trail Regulations:

Please keep in mind that the access to the Inca trail is controlled by SERNANP (Machu Picchu Authority) which has established a maximum number of people allowed on the trail per day. Inca trail permits are granted on a first come first served basis so your Inca trail permit will be confirmed only after your passport information and deposit are provided. The Inca trail permits are limited to 500 per day (trek permits are also required for the porters and cooks) so it is very important that we receive your Inca Trail reservations as far ahead as possible.
