On our tour you will discover Dubrovnik and the surrounding area through a range of different activities: sea kayaking, cycling, walking & trekking. The intention of this tour is to show you natural beauty, a cultural and historical fact which makes Dubrovnik and these islands unique. On such small territory Dubrovnik and islands Lokrum, Sipan and Mljet, you will find remains which date from the antique age, middle age to the recent history. The territory of our activities and trips is unspoiled natural beauty. Rich Mediterranean vegetation, pine and cypress forests and crystal blue sea. This trip is focused on people who want to find the perfect combination of activities, cultural sights and leisure. We travel slowly, but we enjoy every step of our trip, we feel and taste and discover a real sense of the places and what they are all about.
- Dubrovnikis an old city on the Adriatic Sea coast in the extreme south of Croatia. It is one of the most prominent tourist resorts of the Mediterranean, a seaport and the centre of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Dubrovnik is nicknamed “Pearl of the Adriatic” and is listed as a Unesco World Heritage site since 1979.
Day 01: Arrival to Dubrovnik
A Rahhalah guide will pick you up from the airport and drop you to Dubrovnik at your hotel for an afternoon of relaxation.
Day 02: Walking tour of Historical center and city walls Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik is a beautiful, historic city of lovely red-roofed buildings all surrounded by in penetrable walls. Our walking tour takes us through the city learning about the city’s history and buildings. This tour includes: An hour and a half walk in the old center and hour and a half walking tour on the city walls. After the tour, you can enjoy some free time to discover the churches and museums on your own at your own pace.
Day 03: Sea-kayaking to Lokrum, half day trip, Dubrovnik
Enjoy a Sea kayak trip (3 hours) exploring the island of Lokrum where will have fun swimming, snorkeling, hiking, and some leisure time for 2 hours.
After breakfast we will take a minibus transfer to Dubrovnik Old Port where our guide will share instructions on the basics of sea-kayaking. Don’t worry if you haven’t tried it before, after a few minutes in the water you’ll have a good understanding of how these stable craft can be steered – it’s surprisingly easy and great fun!
We will paddle along the city walls to the Island of Lokrum where we can relax and swim in its hidden bays, exploring and visiting the interior where there is a beautiful botanical garden complete with subtropical plants. Also, we will visit the 12th century Benedictine monastery and a small salt lake before we head back to Dubrovnik.
Day 04: Cycling on Sipan. Dubrovnik full day tour
We set out from the old port by local boat to Sipan, the largest of the famous Elafiti islands and two little settlements – Luka Sipanska and Sudjuradj, both of which are ancient sites full of character.
Sipan is an island with a rich cultural heritage and is characterized by a rich Mediterranean vegetation of vineyards, olive trees and pine forests – perfect for cycling.
Our cycling tour starts at Sudjuradj and heads inland through the island.
There are many ways to explore the island by cycling as there are just a few cars on the island, because Sipan is an island of the fisherman’s. In the past, Sipan was a residential place of Dubrovnik patricians, so if you follow the road from port Sudjuradj along the vineyards and olive trees to (western part of the island) the port of the Luka, you will find many interesting sights: old churches, summer residential palaces, beautiful pine forest, hidden bays, etc. Upon arrival in port of Luka, you can have lunch in some excellent small taverns or enjoy a picnic lunch.
Late afternoon return to port of Sudjradj where the boat departs to Dubrovnik.
Day 05: Walking on Mljet. Full day trip, Dubrovnik-Mljet-Dubrovnik
Our day starts with a bus transfer to the port of Dubrovnik, from where we will take a boat to Polace on Mljet. Called “the green island” because of its lush vegetation, Mljet is a pearl in the Adriatic and one of eight Croatian National Parks. As with Sipan, there is beautiful Mediterranean vegetation, clear blue seas, numerous bays, beaches and cliffs, as well as but two lovely salt lakes that are warm even early in the year.
Our hiking begins on arrival at the village of Polace behind the ancient remains of a Roman palace dating from the 2nd century and continues through the National Park and around the salt lakes. The walk averages around 3 hours and there is the chance to swim and enjoy lunch in a local tavern before returning at the end of the day by boat to Dubrovnik
Day 06: Cycling in Konavle countryside, night stop Dubrovnik town All day trip
After breakfast, we leave Dubrovnik by minibus for our next destination- the beautiful Konavle countryside. Riding starts in a village called Cilipi and continues among villages, forests, fields and vineyards to village Zvekovica above Cavtat town. Cycling tour continues from village Zvekovica among fields, vineyards and villages to town Cavtat.
Total distances of the suggested roads are about 25 km and there are many possibilities to explore the area, from picturesque villages, traditional way of life, ethno collection, museums etc.
Late afternoon transfer back to Dubrovnik.
Day 07: Free day-Dubrovnik
Free day to enjoy places not yet seen: medieval town of Cavtat, Island of Korcula, peninsula Peljesac etc. Perhaps you’d like to take a day trip to one of the other islands or simply relax with some souvenir shopping – the choice is yours.
Day 8: Departure
Meet at the hotel and transfer to the airport for departure.
